About me..!
I have until recently concentrated on portrait commissions, getting most of my work by word of mouth and showing locally, but I decided to spread my wings and take it to the next level by setting up this website to gain greater exposure for my work. I hope this move will increase the volume of sales in commissioned original work and high quality prints. I also have lots of ideas that will take me down new avenues that may give my work more appeal to a greater audience. I also hope to engage with people who are attracted to my site to explore new and exiting concepts, as I believe that art is fluid and open to change and because of that I should be willing to move into unfamiliar territory.
My current direction.
whilst still doing portraits, I am experimenting with abstract extensions of them aiming at a wider audience who could find my work appealing and would like to adorn their homes or workplaces with one or two prints from my collections.
Bottom line.
Although I’m in business to make a living, I, like all artists want my work to be enjoyed by people of today and for future generations to get something from it long after I’ve gone…! This, dear viewer, is a journey that I hope we can do together.
This story brought something that I never expected from my artwork and made me realise that there is an emotional side to art.
One of my most meaningful projects, was a commission of a young boy who tragically passed away at the age of twelve, bringing him back to life through my art was a emotional journey, Although my portrait was commissioned several years after his passing, his family now cherishes the portrait in their home, finding comfort and connection every time they see it. This experience confirmed my belief in the profound impact that art can have.
I would just like to add, that it had an significant emotional affect on me to be given the honour of creating the portrait.
As you can tell, I don’t like having my pic taken….!
